Get An Alert When A New Windows Insider Build Is Released – IFTTT RecipeThe Windows Insider program releases new buildsto two different channel or rings. The Fast ring is the first to get a new build while the Slow ring will often have to wait days, even weeks to get the same build.
The new builds, when they’re available,are supposed to download automatically. Other than the updates, the only way to know if a new build is available is to visit Microsoft’s blog for Windows 10 or follow the right person on Twitter.
If neither of these options suit you, you can just use an IFTTT recipe to configure alerts on your phone. Each time Twitter user @@donasarkar, the chief of the Windows Insider program, tweets about a new build using the #WindowsInsider hashtag, you will get an alert on your phone.
You must have the IFTTT app installed on your phone to get the alert.
There are two more recipes created by Reddit userbazilion that alert you on Skype when@Donasarkar tweets about a new build, and whenthe Windows Blog is updated with a new post containing the words Windows Insider Buildin the title.
You can add either of these two to get alerts on Skype.If these alerts aren’t the kind you are looking for, i.e. you would prefer email alerts instead of Skype or IFTTT alerts, then you can create your very own IFTTT recipe.
To do so, sign into IFTTT and start creating a new recipe. Select Twitter as your Trigger Channel. From the list of trigger actions, select ‘New Tweet From Search’.
